My Visit:
This site was definitely out of the way during my Appalachian Trail hike but since the weather was nice and the location was in a National Park, I tacked on the extra time, effort and miles. I even ended up bushwhacking behind a park building trying to find the most direct route to the trail. It helps that nearby is Skyland where you can get a burger and treats afterwards.
