and Wildland Firefighter Memorial Walk
Columbia Breaks added this fire lookout to its site when volunteers from the CB board, the local communities, and the Forest Fire Lookout Association (FFLA) pooled their talents to build a replica of the top story of Flattop Mountain Lookout. Some of the old wood from the lookout was used in the reconstruction, especially the roof and window frame supports. The original lookout with this design was built for the Forest Service in 1946 by the Alladin Company of Portland, Oregon. No other lookout was built with this unique design and outward-sloping windows.
