Lunch Peak Lookout

In 1937, there was a 45 foot pole tower with an L-4 cab.

In 1971, the current 2-story R-6 flat cab was built. Currently it is part of the rental program July to October.

In 2002 the cabin was remodeled.
Lookout History:
Being able to drive a vehicle up to 6,400 feet is amazing and possible on Lunch Peak (some clearance recommended). This lookout site also has a trailhead (just below) where you can start high and stay high hiking a ridge to the former lookout site on Mount Pend Oreille. (Pend Oreille Divide Trail) Views are of the Cabinet Mountain Wilderness, the Selkirk Mountains and Lake Pend Oreille.
