Grayson Highlands
The Appalachian Trail passes through Grayson Highlands State Park. This is one of the few open sections of the AT and where the highest mountains in Virginia are found, Rogers and Whitetop Mountains. It is also most know for its expansive views, wild ponies and lots of nice camping.
I saved some time here by having already visited the states two highest mountains, Mt. Rogers and Whitetop Mountain the prior year.
