Not labeled on maps, this is the eastern peak of Fullhart Mountain, also known as Fullhardt Mountain. On the summit is the Fullhart Knob shelter. The footings of the former fire tower are in the shelter area at the top of the hill. The shelter was built by the Roanoke Appalachian Trail Club in 1965. THe shelter is the last on the Appalachian Trail to use a cistern system for capturing and supplying water to hikers. As for the lookout, I have found almost nothing about the history nor can I find it shown on any maps.
My Visit:
The short side trail to the shelter area is easy, not climbing much elevation. I arrived mid-morning so nobody was at the shelter for my first lunch break.

These footings look so new, with no evidence yet, I wonder if a lookout was even built.
