Appalachian Trail
The Appalachian Trail through Massachusetts could be broken into 3 parts. The south end is Mt. Washington State Forest with the sights of Sages Ravine, Mount Race and Mount Everett. The northern part is Mount Graylock State Lands. Everything in-between is considerably more developed and called The Berkshires. This is a series of towns geared toward tourism that claim more than 100 world class cultural attractions. The Appalachian Trail passes through three of the towns and much of the rural farming and forested area surrounding them. This Appalachian Trail Corridor is an impressive achievement given the amount of private land here.
