Dege Peak Lookout Site
There are two books that suggest Dege Peak was used as a lookout although I have not found any evidence of there being a lookout on the summit.
On page 96 of the book Switchbacks, by Andy Holland, the books says that Harland Eastwood (a famous Darrington Ranger) served as a lookout on “both Dege and Freemont Stations in Mount Rainier National Park” before working on Mt. Pugh.
Also, the book: Lookouts: Firewatchers of the Cascades and Olympics, has Dege Peak listed suggesting it “may have only been a lookout point”.
