Coeur d Alene lies along the northern shore of Lake Coeur d Alene. The city has long been a destination for vacationers; the lake was called one of the five prettiest lakes in the world by National Geographic. The downtown is right on the waterfront with restored brick buildings, lampposts trees and 100 shops within a six block area. It still retains a friendly charm of small town America but with lake activities and tours, golf, theme parks, mountains and city events, this is a popular place in summer.

Downtown Sightseeing
Probably the most popular activity, just walk around the downtown shops then stroll over to all the waterfront parks and beaches. There is a lot to see and take in.
If you are willing to spend some coin, you can take a sightseeing tour boat on the lake or you can hire a float plane for 30 minute excursions over the lake sightseeing.
Lake Tours
Right from downtown, this hiking and beach destination can make you feel remote even though you are in the heart of town.
The North Idaho Centennial Trail is 23 miles long, extending from the Idaho/Washington state line through the city to Higgins Point, 6 miles east of Coeur d Alene.
The largest theme and water park in the northwest sprawling over 200 acres, it includes a massive wooden and metal roller coaster, wave pools, waterslides, lazy river, shows and more.
