County: Multnomah
In August of 1951, a devastating fire burned 2,400 acres, or 25 percent of Forest Park in Portland. Three emergency lookouts were established across the Multnomah River, Madrona Park was one of the three.

In 1952, a firefinder stand and telephone was established to watch Forest Park. The exact location has not been determined but somewhere on the bluff at south end of park is the area. Unfortunately, Madrona Park is a typical city of Portland area park, full of garbage, drug needles and tents.
