Stannard Quarry Kirkland Ohio

About miles south of the Kirtland Temple (on the same road), is the Chapin Forest Reservation. This area features a short trail with interpretive signs. In the 1830s, workers extracted stone from this quarry for the Kirtland Temple and other structures in the area. The site is no longer used as a quarry, but drill marks remain in the stone and the sharp corners where stones were removed.
