Walnut Woods State Park is home to the largest stand of black walnut trees in Iowa. You can also hike more than two miles of trails through wooded bottomland along the Raccoon River. Also located in the park is a 1930s CCC-era lodge that can be reserved. There is a campground that tailors toward RVs. Birdwatching is popular and a bird blind observation station is located not far off the main roadway. Many also try fishing or canoeing along the Raccoon River.
