When the gate is open, you can drive to the summit of this prominent mountain. Trees are filling in much of the view but it still makes a nice destination. The last mile or two is best with some clearance under your car.
In 1923, a cupola cabin was put on the summit.
In the 1930s, a tower with an L-4 cab was built. It was abandoned in 1935 (Kresek)
