Windy Point Lookout Camp
WillhiteWeb.com
Windy Point is a landmark location where the Tye River Valley makes the turn north as it approaches Stevens Pass. The historic railroad over Stevens Pass traversed around the bend right at Windy Point. The Kresek Inventory says there was a camp here in the 1930s, and abandoned in the 1940s. When we look at the panoramic images taken in 1934, we find they took the pictures from 2 different places at Windy Point. Both were above the railroad tracks. Neither location in the panoramic images really show a camp but the shots often don’t show those sorts of things. They are labeled No. 1 and No. 2.
