The Robinson Pass Lookout Site shows on the Kresek inventory as a log cabin in 1931 that burned down in a 1939 forest fire. A log cabin at the pass would make sense given how far deep the pass was at that time and just how much further the trail continued to the guard stations to the north near the Canadian Border. Cabins would be needed during the multiple day journey. The 1931 Chelan National Forest map shows a Robinson Guard Station at or near the pass. The map also shows a P for what I think is a phone at the pass.
I have wondered if the Robinson Pass lookout was "at the pass" or just named "for the pass” but was located on a peak above the pass. I have gotten reports of wood and wire debris on peak 7619 north of the pass. I could see a sleeping quarters at the pass but the lookout point maybe on the ridges above the pass. The pass itself seems like a strange location to me.
The phone line running up Robinson Creek probably also went to Point Defiance and Monument 83 lookouts.
