Built in 1935, Pearrygin Peak had a 20 foot pole tower with an L-4 cab on top.

In 1938, on November 5 the panoramic images were taken at this site. There was quite a bit of snow on the ground during the photo shoot.

In 1950 the USGS visited and described a Forest Service lookout tower at the highest point of Pearrygin Peak. They placed a benchmark about 10 feet north of the lookout. Reference mark 1 is right next to the anchor for the NE corner of the tower. Reference mark 2 was in a 3x5 foot boulder that was used as a step for the lookout tower stairs. They described the lookout as a wooden building 14 feet square supported on 4 pole legs, about 40 feet in height and had a pointed roof with a spike on top. Old Baldy Lookout served as the Azimuth Mark.

In 1953 the lookout was destroyed.

In 1956 the USGS returned and said the lookout tower had been destroyed by the USFS.

In 2022, I used the Pearrygin Creek approach, a fairly good road. The trail was difficult to follow after the first half mile due to wildfire damage and new growth of trees. The last mile and a half was a very rough bushwhack not using the trail route but going directly toward the summit. Also, the road is washed out over a half mile before the end making a bit longer hike.

A recent fire missed the summit so all the relic wood still remains.
