Monumental Mountain Lookout Site
(Stevens County) (Daisy Lookout)

WillhiteWeb.com
In 1945, a 60-foot pole tower with 6x6 foot cab and cabin were built.

In 1965, a 40-foot timber tower with DNR live-in cab was built.

In 1980, the cab was last staffed.

In 1996, the tower was removed to make room for the addition of another radio tower on the summit. The lookout was purchased and rescued by Rod Fosback who has rebuilt the top 10 feet of the tower with cab on his land east of Colville.

Metsker maps show the name as Daisy Lookout. It seems reasonable that the name Daisy was used since another Monumental Mountain Lookout in Pend Oreille County existed during the first decade of this lookout. USGS maps show a benchmark named Daisy at the summit, but I was not able to find any benchmark historic data.
