Lees Lookout - Tumble Creek Lookout

WillhiteWeb.com
This unique lookout is on private land overlooking the Suncadia Resort complex. Each summer, a paid employee staffs this building looking for fire that might threaten the homeowners and the resort itself. The vast view also includes much of Cle Elum Ridge which towers over the towns of Roslyn, Ronald and Cle Elum. The towns are just out of view hidden by a low ridge. So, this lookout helps far more than just Suncadia but the entire valley community. This new Washington lookout is a glimpse into the past when many private timber companies set up temporary lookouts to watch over their territory. Simply put, having a human report smoke immediately, report it and send crews to check on the smoke is still the best way to prevent wildfire.

Access:
I am not going to get specific about access due to it being private property and that the access could easily change year to year. The private Tumble Creek community below the lookout site are encouraged to hike up and enjoy the view, but the entire community is gated with a guard. There is a back route from the West but you will need a car with some basic clearance, and fair navigation skills (see my Easton Ridge Lookout site).
