In the mid-1930s, Juniper Point was built by Lonny Gadberry for the Chelan National Forest. In 1938, panorama photos were taken from the crows nest tree. The lookout was just a sawed-off fir tree with a small platform made from skinny sticks and a 15 foot ladder. An Osborne firefinder rested atop one fork of the stump, while the other fork served as the watchman’s seat. The site was abandoned in the early 1940's. It remained standing with the help of some recycled telephone wire until it finally collapsed about 2007. Remains of the crows nest, the tent floor, flagpole, woodpile and food cooler still remain.

Use map provided. From the parking area, cross the small creek and follow old abandoned road as it descends slightly as it traverses east. After the road seems to end, continue at a slight uphill walk staying above cliffs and you will run into the point slightly higher than you.
