In 1930s, a 20-foot pole tower with L-4 was built.
In 1938, the lookout received two-way radio equipment.
In 1939, the lookout person was stationed by mid-May. Phone line was in the works.
In 1955, the lookout was Duncan Gilchrist.
In 1964, a 20-foot timber tower with R-6 cab was built.
In 1976, the lookout was Charles Addy, who took the position after another seasonal employee, his wife and newborn baby found it difficult to live there.
In 1979, the lookout was removed.

The road is pretty good to near the top. I put on the map where I stopped due to the car I was using at the time. A high clearance SUV could easily make it to the top. The last several hundred feet have some rocky sections. It is an easy walk from anywhere near the top.
