In 1933 there was a crow's nest. One of the earliest roads crossed the west side of the mountain, then crossing over Pyramid Pass just to the north of Grouse Knob.
In the 1940s, this site was abandoned.
In the 1980s it was still there.

Park at Pyramid Pass. There is an abandoned road that climbs nearly to the summit, then old skid logging trails that reach up to the summit plateau. In 2023, this route was brush free but will not be forever. The actual summit has remained untouched and is quite nice.
