Anderson Butte Lookout Site

In 1920 this was a camp.

In 1928, "When the Anderson fireman-lookout was taken down this year the telephone on the lookout point was not taken down as there was still some danger of fire weather and it was thought that it might be necessary to send a man up there again which, however, was not necessary. When we went in a short time later to pack out the equipment, the telephone was found torn down, the front torn off the phone, and in general it was a sad wreck. A few hairs were found clinging to the box that identified the destroyer of government property as a bear. One of the boys said that the bear must have tried to call up and when the phone wasn't answered decided there was trouble on the line and took the phone apart to see what was wrong. He sure did a thorough job of taking apart, but I doubt if he located the trouble. R.F. Cooke" (Six Twenty-Six)

In 1935 (likely), an L-4 cab was built.

In 1935 panoramic images were taken from the roof of the cab in September.

In 1968 the cab was destroyed.

Old trails accessed the site, one from Komo Kulshan Guard Station, the other from Baker Lake Guard Station.
