Lower Lake Roosevelt Canoe Trip
Trip Distance: 50 miles or so
WillhiteWeb.com
This multi-night camping adventure offers miles of terrain to explore in a dry climate that is likely to offer excellent weather during most of the year. There are many boat in campgrounds with take-out points along the way incase you need to end the trip early. Since this is a reservoir, the lake levels can fluctuate daily and in winter and spring, the water can get low, although this is a good time to visit to avoid the crowds. This lower section of lake is considered harder than the upper section of lake due to the volume of boat use in the southern section. Boat Launch permits are required year-round at all Lake Roosevelt's National Park Service boat launches, regardless of boat type. But, the camping is free and boat-in camps.
