Ocean City State Park
The first attraction at Ocean Shores, once past the Quinault casino, is Ocean City State Park. This park is popular since the park is within minutes of the activities and amenities of the town Ocean Shores. As for the park itself, there is just camping and access to the beach. The park has no real developed areas like playgrounds or ballfields. The hike to the beach takes about 5 minutes and the same beach can be reached by vehicle out of Ocean Shores. During that 5-minute walk to the beach, the park goes through North Bay Natural Preserve, a shallow bay with a network of wetland streams and mudflats that have birds and wildlife. I did see a coyote in a stream. The park has four sheltered and 10 unsheltered picnic tables. The parking lot accommodates 100 vehicles. The park has 149 standard campsites, 29 full-hookup sites, one dump station, four restrooms and six showers. The hookup sites provide electricity, water and sewer. The park offers two group camps. Group Camp 1 accommodates 20 to 40 guests and features two RV hookups with water and electricity, restroom, and picnic shelter. Group Camp 2 accommodates 20 to 30 guests. RVs cannot enter Group Camp 2 area.
