I debated whether to post a trip report for this little bump. But, there are a few things to consider with this one. It's right off the main highway, you might be tired and want to stretch your legs. It could also be a good kids hike. In early or late season, it would make a nice scenic hike. You could ski or snowshoe it in the winter since it probably has winter maintenance access. If you have high clearance 4WD, it also makes a fun short drive as well.
While passing Strawberry Reservoir on Highway 40, look for signs for Soldier Creek Recreation Area. Take the road south. There are a bunch of houses on the right side of the road. At the last gravel street to the right before the road curves over to the pay station for the recreation area, turn right. Go up a hill, then take a left. Pass a few houses then it's a 4WD road all the way to the highpoint. Park or drive.
