WillhiteWeb.com
West Tiger Mountain is the most popular of the 5 summits that make up the Tiger Mountain group. West Tiger Mountain itself has three summits, labeled simply one, two and three. The most popular of these three is number three, the lowest of the three but the one with no electronic communications on top. Weyerhaeuser owns the summit areas of West Tiger Mountain 1, 2 and 3 and in 2021, they clearcut their land ownership opening up huge views. So, unlike before, now when you traverse between these three peaks, there are amazing views. Due to the proximity of this mountain to Issaquah, I-90, Highway 18 and even more trailheads, there are numerous ways to access West Tiger Mountain. The most popular would be the trails leaving from the High Point exit off I-90. Do not expect any solitude on this mountain as this forest is really a glorified city park. This is where all levels of hikers come time and time again to get in some exercise, train or just rejuvenate from life stress. But, if you do a loop option, picking a trail that might be more out of the way, you could find some solitude.
