Lake Quinault Lodge
The Lake Quinault Lodge was built in 1926 and visited by President Roosevelt shortly before he signed the bill creating the park. Similar to the Old Faithful Inn in Yellowstone, the lodge has a massive brick fireplace and wood ambiance of the grand old days. It fills up quickly with tourists from around the world during the summer so book accordingly. The benefit of this location is the easy access to numerous hiking trails both right next to the lodge and many more just up the road. Also, the rugged Pacific Ocean Beaches are not too far away. At the lake are boat tours, bike and canoe rentals.
