Not too far south of San Diego in Mexico, the first main tourist port for cruise lines is Ensenada. This port has easy off the boat access to shops and boardwalks. The most popular excursion from the port is the blowhole at La Bufadora, considered one of the largest in the world. Unfortunately, due to tides, most find it not blowing during a visit. But to reach the blowhole, you get dropped off at the start of the La Bufadora market, a walkway or gantlet of over 100 shops you must travel through to reach the blowhole. Many other activities are available but nothing I would consider very interesting.
