Svinafellsjokull Glacier in Skaftafell Natural Area

The Sv�nafellsj�kull Glacier is an outlet glacier of Vatnaj�kull, the largest ice cap in Europe. It is part of the Skaftafell Nature Reserve, which is part of Vatnajokull National Park. There are two short spur roads off the Ring Road to reach parking areas to view the glacier. We did the southern one which did require a short hike. The roads are not signed from the Ring Road so you just need to know that they are there and go down them.
