Glacier View Wilderness Highpoint

South Pierce Hikes
The highest point in the wilderness has no name so peakbaggers just call it the Glacier View Wilderness Highpoint. It is a decent and quick scramble from Lake Christine with some good views near the top but nothing unobstructed. Other points in the wilderness have full unobstructed views. Just north on the ridge is a lower rocky feature that is likely more challenging of a climb. Great views can be found on the adjacent Point Christine, an easy grab along with this peak.
Elevation: 5,528 feet (5,531 feet on Peakbagger)
Hiking Distance: One mile from Lake Christine Trailhead
Elevation Gain: 1,200 feet from Lake Christine Trailhead
Access: See notes below
From Tacoma, take State Route 7 to Elbe, then left onto SR 706 to Ashford. Continue 3.8 miles east of Ashford and turn left onto Forest Road 59 (Copper Creek Road). The ROAD is CLOSED at this time due to bad washouts. Biking is possible to the trailhead but has 2,500 feet of climbing. My gut says this access road will never be repaired but things could change.
Access:
From Lake Christine, on the south side of the lake, climb easy forested terrain to get you onto the ridge west of the peak. Follow the ridge west up toward the summit. Drop into an open wide easy gully like feature nearly to the summit.
