Cabot Trail, Nova Scotia
The Cabot Trail makes a 185 mile (298-kilometer) loop around the north end of Nova Scotia. The northern half of the loop is through the scenic Cape Breton Highlands National Park. The loop is advertised as one of the most scenic drives in the world, with a road that rises from the sea clinging to mountains and dropping into fishing villages. Although this is an exaggeration, the scenery is nice, especially through Cape Breton Highlands National Park where there are boreal, Acadian, and Taiga forests, and huge views of the ocean.
