LAX to Venice Beach
This was a nice half day excursion. We walked from the airport to the beach, then rented bikes from a machine and rode them to Venice Beach. We then got a Lyft back to the airport.

From the airport, you can walk to In and Out Burger for lunch, then walk the length of the airport 2.5 miles along Westchester Parkway. The road is a good place to walk or bike for exercise. Once we got near the beach, we found a neighborhood trail that led us down, adjacent to the LAX dunes. Once at Playa Del Rey Beach (3 miles total), we soon found a bike station, put in a credit card and we were off. The coastal bike trail went north, and we wrapped around Marina Del Rey. The signed trail took us to Venice Beach where we continued north toward the Santa Monica Pier. Distracted by a movie production, we eventually clicked our bikes back into a rental station and went by foot through the shops on the boardwalk. Getting a Lyft back was quick and easy. So, if you are stuck at LAX airport for a day, there are plenty of things to do nearby.
