The Tacoma Pipeline Trail is a paved route for people walking or biking between Tacoma and South Hill Puyallup. Some sections are still being developed and some sections are part of neighborhood streets. The central section is currently the best, with parking facilities at Orangegate Park that opened in 2025. The route north from the park is good for several miles until you get into Tacoma where the trail starts utilizing streets instead of its own pathway. The streets are shy on vehicle traffic, with a well marked bike route but the homes are a bit sketch and I personally would not take my family into the area. As the trail reaches the Tacoma Dome, you might want to pack some heat because there are crazy people wandering around the Dome District. Back at Orangegate Park, the trail is planned to go south to connect to the existing Nathan Chapman Memorial Trail in South Hill and Heritage Recreation Center.
Distance: Currently 6.1 miles
