North Lake - Federal Way
North Lake is a short kayak trip best suited for wildlife viewing and those wanting to fish. What makes North Lake different from all the other lakes in the Federal Way area is the access is through a Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife gate. A discover pass is required and the gate is only open the last Sat in April thru Oct 31st. No motor boats are allowed. Half of North Lake is developed with homes while the other half is wooded and natural looking, property owned by the Weyerhaeuser Corporate Offices. Amenities at the boat launch are a dock, restrooms and some short trails to fishing spots.

Get on Highway 18 from I-5, take 1st exit onto Weyerhaeuser Way, follow it north for approximately 3 miles to a right turn (possibly unsigned). If you hit 320th you went too far.
