In July 1933, men started unloading from cars a knocked-down lookout station to be placed on Sheep Mountain. Work began in late September building the tower. By October, the tower had been raised and a 14 x 14-foot house was being constructed on top of the tower. The following year in June of 1934, the crew of four being led by Glen Campbell was completing the lookout station and installing lightning protection. (Republic News-Miner) The tower was a 45-foot pole tower with an L-4 cab. It was destroyed in 1964.
