There are not many trails like this left. The Greenwater Lakes trail starts out at a low elevation and without much uphill climbing, reaches the easy destination, where you can find campsites. This was one of my first boy scout hikes when I was 12. Then, you can continue on the trail to Echo Lake, inside of the Norse Peak Wilderness Area. The elevation gain is small while the forests are big.

Greenwater Lakes - Echo Lake
Distance: 6.7 miles
Echo Lake Elevation: 3,819 feet

Take State 410 east from Enumclaw 20.3 miles to Greenwater Road #70. Turn left and follow it 9.6 miles to the trailhead sign. Turn right onto Road #7033 and the trail is on the right.
Route:
Trail goes along the Greenwater River through Old Growth timber until it reaches Lower Greenwater Lake (Meeker Lake) at 1.7 miles and the Upper Greenwater Lake at 2.2 miles. After that, the trail enters the Norse Peak Wilderness. At 3.2 miles, is the junction with the Lost Lake Trail. Go right for Lost Lake (3 miles) or left for Echo Lake, another 3.5 miles.
