Port of Ilwaco
The Port of Ilwaco is a working fishing village located on the Columbia River, just before it goes out to the Pacific Ocean. With an 800-slip marina, it's location is perfect for both recreational boaters and commercial fishermen. At certain times of year, the waterfront is bustling with activity, with restaurants, lodging, gift shops, galleries, retail seafood outlets, a barista and a bookstore. When not busy, it still makes for an interesting stop to walk out on the docks and check out the boats. Ilwaco (right out of the downtown) is also the end point or start point for the Lewis and Clark Discovery Trail, a paved bike trail that will take you all the way to Long Beach. Some of the events throughout the year are the Saturday Market, the Loyalty Day Children's Parade, the Blessing of the Fleet and the annual Fireworks spectacular.
