Home
Kanaskat-Palmer is located on the Green River, the upper most park on the river before it goes into the restricted Tacoma Watershed inside the mountains. Visitors come to enjoy camping, hiking, picnicking and white-water kayaking. Many come to float the park section of river but beyond the park is expert only, so get out at the sign saying, expert only beyond this point. For those of us not into whitewater rapids, there are several access points to the river for wading into gentle pools and eddies. For the hiker, there are roughly 3 miles of hiking trails. A great loop can be made around the entire park on the River Trail. If you want to camp, there are 25 tent spots, 19 RV spots and 6 yurts for rent. For picnic use, there is one large reservable kitchen shelter with amenities, three other covered picnic shelters and 49 unsheltered picnic tables. The group campsite accommodates up to 80 people but parking is limited. The group camp includes restroom, showers, two Adirondack sleeping shelters, eight standard tent sites, and a picnic shelter. No motor homes, trailers, or tent-trailers allowed in the group camp.
