Anderson Island Weekend
Visiting Anderson Island is probably one of the easiest and closest getaways for South Sound residents. Once on the island, you feel far from the busy suburbia the ferry left from. Some might complain there isn't much to do on the island but if you are into outside activities, particular hiking, there is plenty to do and explore. We rented the Inn at Burg's Landing right next to the ferry landing and had a great family get together. Some of the things we did other than just hang out, we had dinner at the one restaurant, the Riviera Lakefront Restaurant. We also brought kayaks and paddled around much of the island. We packed lunches and did a hike at Jacobs Point Park out to the beach and explored while half our group kayaked there from our B&B, then switching so the hikers could paddle back. During the heat of the afternoon, we stopped by Lowell Johnson Park (Old Swimming Hole) and took a dip. For the sunset, we went to Andys Marine Park which has a west view to catch the sunset.
