Morrison Park - Aberdeen
Morrison Riverfront Park can make a fine introduction to the city of Aberdeen since it is the first attraction as you arrive from Olympia or Chehalis. Morrison Park is along the Chehalis River, not far from its entrance into Grays Harbor. Amenities include picnic tables, a fishing/viewing dock, kids play equipment, historic interpretive signs, benches and local art work. There is also a 1.5 million dollar Log Pavilion given to the City of Aberdeen by the Rotary Club to be used by its citizens. The only catch, it must be self supporting so to maintain it, there is a rental fee. Reservations can be made well in advance and the location makes for a prime activity spot. Morrison Park also offers a paved 1.35 mile trail along the Chehalis River waterfront going east. The west end of the park (and trail) is a shopping center with grocery stores, incase you forgot something during your picnic.
