E.C. Hughes Park
E.C. Hughes playground is small but well loved park used by local residents tucked into a quiet neighborhood. Hughes Park includes 2 ballfields, a children's play area, a basketball court, public restrooms, and several picnic tables with BBQs for grilling. The Wading Pool is located next to the children's play area and has water from the end of June to Mid-August Weds to Fridays, noon to 7 p.m. (the schedule changes). E.C. Hughes Playground was purchased in 1945. The park name was taken from the nearby school, which was named for Elwood Clarke Hughes, an esteemed past president of the School Board.
