Curran Apple Orchard Park

One of the most unique parks in the South Sound is Curran Apple Orchard. The property was purchased by the Currans in 1951. They planted the apple orchard with 250 Gravenstein, Macintosh and Golden Delicious apple trees that quickly became a popular local landmark. In 1993, the University Place Community Council was able to preserve the orchard forever as a park. The work in the orchard is done by volunteers from CORE (Curran Orchard Resource Enthusiasts) who work with the City of University Place to develop the orchard into an urban and edible outdoor classroom.
