Skagit Wildlife Area

Home
This simple walking trail in the Skagit Wildlife Area offers plenty of chances at viewing wildlife and enjoying some sunshine. The intertidal estuary is mostly open so this is a good walk if you are looking for some sun. Along the way look for aquatic and terrestrial species such as ducks, geese, swans, raptors and shorebirds that depend on wetland and riparian habitats. The Skagit Wildlife Area is actually 16 separate management units throughout the area but this page just focuses on this hike in this unit as most of the units have no trails or access. In winter, you can see up to 200,000 swans or in fall 100,000 ducks.
