Seal Rock
Seal Rock is a small town south of Newport on the Pacific Coast Highway. There you can find Seal Rock State Wayside with its large off-shore rock formations which are the habitat of seals, sea lions, sea birds and other marine life. The wayside includes interesting tidepools as well as excellent ocean views and a sandy beach. Developed for day-use, the picnic area is in a pleasant stand of shore pine, spruce and salal. Seal Rock has about 1,600 residents who enjoy small town life along the rugged coast. Its a good choice if you enjoy less crowed beaches, there are also some small shops, galleries, food and lodging.
