Cape Perpetua Scenic Area - Devils Churn
The natural phenomena of Devils Churn has waves racing up the chasm, shooting up the 30-foot inlet to explode against the narrowing sides of the channel. The basalt that forms the shore is penetrated by a split in the rock that narrows to a few feet before finally disappearing into the cliff. A paved trail leads down from the parking lot. Cape Perpetua also has a visitors center, a seasonal campground and 26 miles of hiking trails.
