Plummer Mountain
Elevation: 7,870 feet
Distance: 2 miles from Image Lake
Elevation Gain: 2,000ish feet from Image Lake
Access: Good Gravel
With nearly 2,000 feet of prominence, Plummer Mountain is a big mass rising at the far east end of the popular Miners Ridge. The summit makes for a nice half-day outing if camping at Image Lake. Its south slopes are generally tame but the north side is quite dramatic.

Route
From Darrington drive north eight miles on State Highway 530 toward Rockport to the Suiattle River Road #26, drive 24.5 miles to the Suiattle River Trailhead. Follow the Suiattle River Trail 6.8 miles to the Pacific Crest Trail. Take the trail northbound and follow 3 miles to the Miners Ridge Trail. It climb 3.2 miles up switchbacks to another trail split at Sunnybrook Camp. Left is to Miners Ridge, right is to Suiattle Pass. Go left and 2.3 more miles of switchbacks brings you to the top of Miners Ridge. Left is the lookout in a quarter mile, right is Image Lake in 0.7 miles.
From Image Lake, hike the main trail east as high as possible, then go off trail on meadows until the top of Miners Ridge. On top, find a climbers trail going most of the way. There are a few bumps, the climbers trail seems to go over the top of most although you can traverse around them on pretty easy terrain. The final few hundred feet is a steep slope to scramble up until a false summit. From there, find a angled ledge that drops down to the gap between the false and true summit. Then class 3 up to the top.
If coming from the East, I have old books showing routes from Lady Camp, which is about a mile east of Image Lake toward Suiattle Pass (see map).
