With completion of the Mike O'Callaghan Bridge, the dam is now a huge tourist attraction like never before. A tour costs money but if you are just walking the dam and the Mike O'Callaghan bridge, it is free (as long as you park on the Arizona side of the dam). Security stops everyone as you approach the dam. The dam is under an hour from the Las Vegas strip.
