Elko Mountain

What is there to do in Elko Nevada? A drive up Elko Mountain is a good start. From the summit, you can look at the City of Elko everyone sees as they pass by on I-80. You will also see Spring Creek, a more hidden but beautiful valley location to live at the base of the Ruby Mountains. There is a nice gravel road to the summit. Elko has almost 2,100 feet of prominence and it's isolated from any other relief so you will notice it long before you arrive in Elko.
Access:
From Highway 227 between Elko and Spring Creek, turn east on Boyd-Kennedy Road (County Road 711). Follow Boyd-Kennedy Rd. for 5.2 miles to a Y. Take the left, it will curve back a bit and start heading to the western side of the mountain. Follow this main road to the summit.
Distance: Drive-up
Summit Elevation: 7,505 feet
