In 1877 Brigham Young came to organize the residents of the area into wards. With 2,500 people in attendance, they were divided in four wards, one for each quadrant of the city. The first official church building was an adobe structure but it burned down. This building replaced it, built in 1912, the Brigham City Third Ward Chapel is best known for its large stained-glass window of Joseph Smith's first vision and the bowl shaped ceiling behind the podium which makes for wonderful acoustics. Additions and renovations have been made, the original structure was the rectangular east part with tower.
