Hiking Distance: Just over a mile one-way
At the edge of the national park are two villages just 1 air mile from one another. Although the villages are historically old fishing villages, they now offer many accommodations to travelers. The attraction here is to hike a winding trail between the two along the rugged shoreline. We started in Arnarstapi and hiked to Hellnar where there was a caf right on the beach. In fact, the caf is so far down on the beach we never really saw Hellnar. The beach had some fascinating rocks and an natural arch as well. The hike is under 2 miles one-way.
