Cee Cee Ah (CCA) Lookouts

In 1933, a 40 foot pole tower with an L-4 cab was built.

In 1935, in early June, a Forest Service pack train took a load of supplies to the CCA Peak lookout.

In 1936, a 40-foot pole tower with L-6 was built a quarter mile north of the first tower. This L-6 was first on a display at the Pend Oreille Fair in 1936.

In 1955, the L-4 was removed.

In 1984, the L-6 again returned to the fairgrounds as a museum. (Kresek)

Parts of the L-6 cab are used in the Ray Kresek museum cab.

Route and Site Information:
The road is gated year round and in time will become overgrown. As of 2023, you could still bike 80 percent of the way up. Use map provided. The summit area has brush but the actual summit is flat and forested. The lookout site with footings is down the south ridge a bit where a road ended. The second site a quarter mile apart as the lookout inventory suggests is likely at the summit. No evidence has been found at the summit but the area has been flattened, has some trail and pit toilet indications and seems like the most likely place.
